About the client:
Future Generation is planning, engineering and delivering the Snowy 2.0 Project on behalf of Snowy Hydro Limited.
Project Overview
The Snowy 2.0 Project (the Project) involves the expansion of the current Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme (the Scheme) to provide increased storage and security to supply the national electricity network in Australia.
The Project includes the design and construction of a 2000 MW pumped hydroelectric power station and associated infrastructure between the existing Talbingo and Tantangara reservoirs.
The Snowy Mountain Scheme is the largest engineering project ever undertaken in Australia. The entire scheme overs a mountainous area of about 5,124 km2 in southern New South Wales (NSW) and produces 4,100 MW of hydropower.
OCON Scope
With support from our client working within the national park OCON successfully delivered the following scope for FGJV without incident on time and within budget.
- 30,000+ m2 cleared and grubbed
- Sediment and erosion controls
- 3000m of surface drainage including batter chutes and terrace drains to design
Subsurface drainage including stormwater, insitu headwalls and junction boxs - Bulk earthworks in rock with slope stabilization comprising of rock anchoring and sub horizontal drains. Erosion control matting and wire mesh
